18-year-old charged with murder after Edmonson County shooting

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Bowling Green man.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 said they responded around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a call to assist the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office in the 600 block of The Bridge Road.

Police say Ernest Cline, 83, of Bowling Green, was found dead inside a residence there.

Authorities say Damien Worrel, 18, was arrested by officers and charged with murder and robbery.

Worrel was transported to the Hart County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
