Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s stance on potential move to West Ham or Nottingham Forest

Oxlade-Chamberlain spent six years at Arsenal and six years at Liverpool before leaving Anfield in 2023 to join Turkish side Besiktas.

Former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted he loved working with Oxlade-Chamberlain and described him as “technically exceptional” when he left the club last summer.

The 31-year-old midfielder scored four goals in 31 appearances for Besiktas last season but could now be available this summer.

Besiktas’ financial situation – coupled with the player’s desire to return to England – means a transfer could now be on the cards.

Dutch giants Ajax have also expressed interest in reuniting him with former team-mate Jordan Henderson, while RB Salzburg – where his former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders is the new boss – have also expressed an interest.

West Ham make room for Oxlade-Chamberlain

It’s been a busy summer for the Hammers, with several high-profile signings made.

West Ham have shown interest in Eddie Nketiah and Tammy Abraham as they target a new striker, and they are willing to release high-earning player Danny Ings to fuel a deal.

The Hammers are prepared to sell nine players this summer, including midfielders James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek. Offloading those two players could make room for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
