Sports – Door County Daily News





The Door County United Girls Swim Team, consisting of swimmers from Sevastopol High School, Sturgeon Bay High School, and Southern Door High School, competed in the Marinette Pentathlon for their first conference matchup of the 2024 season. Each swimmer competed in the same five events, and scoring was completed according to grade level. The team continued their success from last season with high placements within each grade. For freshmen, Megan Quaderer (SBHS) tied for third, and Amelia Michalski (SBHS) finished sixth. Sophomore Shaeffer Rass (SEV) finished second overall. Kailyn Neville (SDHS) and Chloe Bissen (SBHS) finished fourth and fifth overall for juniors. Julia Michalski (SBHS) finished first overall for the seniors, followed closely by Caitlyn Hasenjager (SBHS), who finished second. The team showed off their hard work during the pre-season at the conference. They showed great promise of success for the remainder of the season. The DCU swim team will next compete in the Conference Relays Meet at the Door County YMCA on Thursday, August 29th, at 5:00 pm
