Palakkad (Kerala): The three-day ‘Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak’ of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began here on Saturday in the presence of the organisation’s chief Mohan Bhagwat and its six deputy general secretaries.

BJP president JP Nadda, its organising secretary BL Santosh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief Alok Kumar and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh president Hiranmay Pandya were among the national leaders of 32 “Sangh-inspired organisations” who attended the meeting, an RSS statement said.

On the first day of the national level coordination meeting, leaders of the 32 Sangh-inspired organisations and around 300 of their ‘karyakartas’, which included women, were briefed on the recent landslide in Wayanad and the relief and service work being carried out by the swayamsevak, the statement said.

The organizing secretaries of the various organizations presented and exchanged information and experiences on their activities.

“Apart from this, the meeting discussed the current scenario, recent important events and other dimensions of social transformation and projects in the context of various issues of national interest,” he said.

Representatives of the organizations also discussed necessary measures to further increase mutual cooperation and coordination on various issues.

On Friday, the RSS had said the meeting would discuss various issues of national importance as well as initiatives it intends to launch as part of completing its centenary year in 2025.

The meeting will be held from August 31 to September 2.

The RSS had on Friday said that as the organisation enters its centenary year of Vijayadashami in 2025, it will launch five initiatives for social reform and nation building.
