Phoenix speakeasy offers three-course dinner with a touch of mystery

PHOENIX (AZ family) — Get ready to unleash your inner detective! A Phoenix speakeasy offers a fun and mysterious evening.

Wander Speakeasy, located near 7th Street and Deer Valley Drive, is bringing back its murder mystery dinner, with the Mafioso Murders- Godfather’s Revenge Mystery Dinner, presented by Murder Ink Productions, on Sunday, September 22.

“People can come and be a part of the show,” said Greg Lutz, owner and founder of Murder Ink Productions.

Guests are encouraged to dress as if they were in the 1920s as they enter the world of gangsters and mayhem of that decade.

“We have actors who play, and then someone dies mysteriously, and then they can look for clues. After they look for clues, we have a moment where they can vote and see if they can guess who the murderer really is,” Lutz said.

Audience members can also be assigned a role in the mystery, and Lutz says the winner receives a prize.

The dinner is in keeping with the mafia theme and is a three-course meal of Italian cuisine, including burrata and heirloom tomato salad with berries, pesto and balsamic vinegar.

The main course is a chicken cacciatore with braised chicken, vegetables, sauce and polenta with parmesan and cheese.

For dessert, guests can enjoy a pannacotta with blackberry jam, almonds and granola, pistachios and elderberry honey.

Adult tickets are $95 and include a three-course dinner with unlimited non-alcoholic beverages.

VIP tickets are available for $110 and include preferred seating, a craft cocktail or wine, a three-course dinner and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages.
