LoveWay embarks on its 30th annual fundraiser

MIDDLEBURY — LoveWay Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides equine assistance services to people with disabilities, will host its 30th annual Ride-A-Thon on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The fundraiser aims to raise 30 scholarships for participating students in the fall semester and to raise awareness of LoveWay’s life-changing programs. Community members are encouraged to bring their horses and join the Ride-A-Thon.

The 30th annual Ride-A-Thon will kick off at LoveWay in Middlebury, where participants will have the opportunity to embark on a horseback ride through the scenic Riegsecker property. The event will begin with a breakfast and conclude with lunch at the Amish Church.

Attendees are encouraged to bid on the silent auction. This year, they have the opportunity to win a unique stud with Metallic Berry at Pine Meadow Equine.

“As we saddle up for our 30th annual Ride-A-Thon, the excitement of galloping toward our fundraising needs is matched only by the joy of seeing the transformative power of LoveWay’s equine assistance services in action,” said Shelley Becker, LoveWay Executive Director. “Join us on this memorable ride to make an impact one hoof kick at a time.”

People without horses can also get involved. LoveWay is still accepting Ride-A-Thon sponsors and items for its on-site silent auction for guests that will take place in place of the personal fundraiser this year. LoveWay also needs volunteers to help its new students.

LoveWay Inc. has been serving the Elkhart County community for over 51 years, providing equine-assisted services that enhance physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being.
