Man, woman killed in suspected murder-suicide at North Side apartment complex, San Francisco police say

SAN ANTONIO – Authorities said they are investigating a murder-suicide after finding two people dead in a North Side apartment complex.

Officers conducted a security check around 9 a.m. Sunday in the 7900 block of Jones Maltsberger Road. Authorities believed a male suspect was at the scene, but that was not the case.

Police later determined the suspect was located at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of East Sonterra Boulevard.

Officers knocked on the door of an apartment they believed to belong to the suspect, but again, no one answered. A SWAT unit then rushed to the scene to request assistance.

After several hours of trying to communicate with the suspect, officers entered the apartment and found the suspect and a woman dead, SAPD said.

Authorities believe the suspect killed the woman before committing suicide. The cause of their deaths is still under investigation.

According to SAPD police, the suspect was about 30 years old and the woman was in her 20s. Police have not yet determined their relationship.
