‘I don’t consider her my friend anymore’: Lisa Snyder’s former girlfriend takes the stand at murder trial | Berks Regional News

READING, Pa. — Two former friends came face to face in court Wednesday.

One of them, a woman accused of killing her two children.

The other, a woman who hopes to be the voice of these children.

On the third day of her murder trial, the court heard Lisa Snyder’s voice. The recording was made just hours after her son Conner and daughter Brinley were found hanging in the family basement. In it, Snyder told police her version of what happened that fateful day nearly five years ago.

Snyder twice explained to investigators what happened, explaining that Conner wanted to build a fort in the basement with his sister. He took two kitchen chairs with him and a newly purchased dog leash.

Snyder said she started folding clothes, took the dog out, smoked a cigarette and then went back to check on the children, and that’s when she found them.

Earlier in the day, a former friend of Snyder’s testified.

“I just hope the judge heard me for Conner and Brinley because I was their voice today,” said Jessica Senft, a former friend of Lisa Snyder.

Senft also spoke about how she was questioned by Pennsylvania State Police after the incident and was asked to let them know if Snyder had said anything to her.

“She felt comfortable talking to me,” Senft said.

A child protective services investigator who handled the case also testified, breaking down in tears as she recalled details of the case that tore apart a family and friends.

“Everything changed the day this happened. I don’t consider her my friend anymore,” Senft added.
