Maine pulls away in fourth to beat Merrimack

Joey Bryson kicked a 28-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to give Maine the lead, and the Black Bears scored 10 more points in the quarter to beat Merrimack, 26-15, on Saturday afternoon in North Andover, Mass.

Maine (2-2, 1-1 CAA) pulled within three points when Carter Peevy threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Heisey with 4:50 left in the third quarter. Bryson gave Maine the lead, then Tavion Banks scored on a 5-yard run and Bryson kicked a 33-yard field goal.

Peevy completed 18 of 27 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Joe Gillette caught four passes for 86 yards and Montigo Moss had four receptions for 52 yards. Banks ran 13 times for 67 yards.

Liam Davis made three field goals for Merrimack (1-3, 1-1). Grant Jackson returned a fumble for a touchdown, and the Warriors also recorded a safety.

A 27, GALLAUDET 13: Chris Lang threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns, including a 60-yard pass to AJ DeFilio, as the Nor’easters (1-2) beat the Bison (0-3) in Biddeford.

Lang completed 24 of 30 passes. DeFilio caught four passes for 91 yards, and Damien Jones ran for 107 yards and a touchdown. Nathan Delgado had three receptions for 12 yards and a touchdown while running for 55 yards.

WILLIAMS 24, COLBY 19: Owen McHugh rushed for two touchdowns and caught another as the Ephs (2-0) held on to beat the Mules (0-2) in a NESCAC game in Waterville.

Colby quarterback Miles Drake completed 21 of 39 passes for two touchdowns and two interceptions. Declan McNamara also had a touchdown pass for the Mules. Attics Duncan had touchdown receptions of 9 and 10 yards.

MIDDLEBURY 39, BOWDOIN 15: Brian Moran threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Panthers (1-1) past the Polar Bears (0-2) in Brunswick.

Mike Ahonen caught seven passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, while Connor McClellan and Ethan Vashel each had touchdown receptions for Middlebury. Patrick Jamin caught five passes for 100 yards.

Michael Wolfendale ran for a touchdown for Bowdoin. Caden Perry and Jotham Casey each added a field goal, and the Polar Bears got a safety in the first quarter.

TRINITY 27, BATES 7: Zander Zebrowski threw three touchdown passes as the Bantams (2-0) beat the Bobcats (0-2) in a NESCAC game in Lewiston.

Jack Tosone had a 56-yard run for Trinity in the first quarter. Sean Clapp caught TD passes of 10 and 4 yards, and Nolan Brien had a 9-yard touchdown reception.

Ryan Lynskey ran for 102 yards and a touchdown for Bates.

HUSSON 38, NORWICH 22: Max Clark completed 16 of 22 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Eagles (1-1) over the Cadets (0-2) in Northfield, Vt.

JaQuan Myles had six receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Lavar Hunter ran 10 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
