Liberal Media Screams: PBS Says Harris Is a ‘Happy Warrior’ Ready to ‘Slap’ Trump

On PBS NewsHour, MSNBC and Washington Post Left-wing pundit Jonathan Capehart said Harris was part of the “culture” ready to fight Trump.

“She’s part of what drives this culture that, I think you said, is going to slap Donald Trump. It’s hitting him in the face,” Capehart said, adding: “Throughout her career, she’s been the happy warrior who helps people and puts the negativity aside. She just hits the right person at the right time.”

From Friday PBS NewsHour, picking up after presenter Geoff Bennett quoted David Brooks’ column, “How a Cultural Shift Favors Harris.”

GEOFF BENNETT: Jonathan, that word joy, Kamala Harris, Vice President Harris, when she sat down with the three reporters from the National Association of Black Journalists today (actually Tuesday), one of them asked her what she thought about the attacks on her joyful warrior approach. And she defended it. And she said that people will sometimes try to use your best asset against you. What do you think about that and this idea that she’s riding a cultural wave?

JONATHAN CAPEHART: I don’t think she has a culture – she does, and I read your column, David. It’s not so much that she rides – she sees this wave coming and she rides it. No, she’s part of the culture. And that’s why I think when she became the top of the list, everybody marveled at how quickly the switch flipped. It can happen – and it happened very naturally and very dramatically.

What that means to me is that you can’t manufacture that. And she was able to do that because she is the culture. She is part of the culture. She is part of what drives this culture that, I think you said, is going to slap Donald Trump in the face. It’s slapping him in the face, which is why I think he’s so confused.

He doesn’t know how to deal with her. I think that’s why the polls are in favor of the vice president. And to your point about the happy warrior, and David is right, that’s who the vice president has always been, which kind of reinforces what you’re saying. It’s not that she’s met the culture. She’s been the happy warrior throughout her career who helps people and puts the negativity aside.

It just so happens to hit the right person at the right time.
