Fleeing man arrested after avoiding arrest for years, Dubois Co. sheriff says.

DUBOIS CO., Ind. (WFIE) – After spending four years on the lam, Nathan C. Rhodes, 39, of Dubois County has been taken into custody.

That’s according to the Dubois Co. Sheriff’s Office, which says he was apprehended for violating the sexual and violent offender registry.

“During the week of September 16, 2024, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office SVOR Coordinator received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Rhodes,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The US Marshal Service was contacted due to Rhodes’ location at that time. He was subsequently arrested by the US Marshal Service in Louisville, Kentucky.”

Investigators revealed he was also wanted out of Crawford County, Indiana, for a similar offense.

“His arrest marks the end of a lengthy pursuit and highlights the collaborative efforts between local law enforcement and federal authorities,” the sheriff’s office added.

Rhodes is being held without bail at the Dubois County Security Center.
