This new timepiece is the first in the 2100 line to bear the MR-G name. The 2100 series debuted in 2019, featuring a combined digital-analog design offering a modern twist on the very first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C. With its distinctive octagonal bezel and slim, streamlined design, the 2100 series has proven popular around the world.

The shock-resistant MRG-B2100B features a dimensional lattice dial inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship. kigumi wood carpentry techniques. The base surface of the dial features a wavy shape with an intricate series of openings to create a geometric pattern beautifully expressing a kumiko lattice world view. The pattern not only provides a design feature but also allows ample light through the elaborate openings for solar power generation.

* Kumiko is a Japanese technique consisting of assembling pieces of wood in geometric patterns without using nails.

The distinctive 2,100-line octagonal bezel is formed from a total of 27 separate components, allowing precision polishing to a beautiful metallic finish, even in the most difficult recessed locations. External components are individually polished by master craftsmen then assembled using a process as exacting as kigumi the Woodcraft. The upper bezel is in COBARIONTM, an alloy with approximately four times the hardness of pure titanium, and the bracelet uses DAT55G, a titanium alloy with approximately three times the hardness of pure titanium. This timepiece combines the refined beauty of metal with the robustness of a G-SHOCK for a design worthy of the MR-G name.
