The Silent Hill veteran shares then erases his frustrations with fans who blame their remake woes on him: "I really wish they weren't kids but adults"

Veteran Silent Hill developer Masahiro Ito shared some scathing tweets directed at “disrespectful” fans, blaming him for their dissatisfaction with the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake. One tweet suggested some fans were behaving like “children ” has since been deleted.

The exact release time for the Silent Hill 2 remake varies by region, but for most people it’s arriving on Tuesday, October 8, which means the vast majority of fans haven’t had time to play yet However, reviews have largely been very positive, with the Bloober Team remake currently sporting a more than respectable 87 Metacritic rating. Ito, who created the iconic villain Pyramid Head as a monster designer on the original Silent Hill, who was art director on Silent Hill 2 and who was the creature designer on the remake, took to Twitter to express his frustrations with these particular fans.

Days after that tweet, Ito followed up with an even stronger rebuke, this time written in English, saying he wished these fans “were not children but adults.” Ito has since deleted that tweet, but he has yet to delete another one that revealed he had since blocked all accounts, blaming him for their remake issues.

I would generally advise not just game developers, but everyone, to block disrespectful people before even engaging with them, but I also can’t blame Ito for speaking up in this matter.
