‘Will we have any left?;’ Community concerned after another pharmacy announces closure

Another large pharmacy is closing its doors.

Walgreens announced plans to close 1,200 stores nationwide.

Walgreens hasn’t announced which locations are closing, but shoppers said it wasn’t a surprise.

Torie said she switched to Walgreens when Rite-Aid closed.

Now she’s worried about having to do it again.

She said other pharmacy options are dwindling.

“I feel like they’re closing…and I feel like there are fewer and fewer pharmacies to go to and you’re stuck with the big box stores,” Torie said.

The mother of two isn’t the only one concerned about these pharmacies closing.

“Will we have any left? That’s what worries me,” Pam said.

Walgreens reports low reimbursements for prescriptions while store operating costs rise, leading to downsizing nationwide.

“I’m not surprised, everything else is closing,” Lilana Brewer said.
