2024 Nissan Magnite: 6 Things That Beat the Hyundai Exter

The Nissan Magnite and Hyundai Exter are similarly priced, but the Nissan sub-4m SUV gets these things over the Hyundai micro-SUV

The Nissan Magnite facelift was launched recently with prices starting from Rs 5.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). In terms of price, this sub-4m SUV rivals the popular Hyundai Exter micro-SUV, which starts at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). While both offerings are decently equipped, here is a list of things the Nissan Magnite beats the Hyundai Exter to:

360-degree camera

The top-spec Tekna variant Nissan Magnite has a 360-degree camera with blind spot assist. On the other hand, the Hyundai Exter is only being offered with a rearview camera and also a reverse camera.

Digital driver display

The Hyundai Exter is being offered with a semi-digital driver display across all variants. The facelifted Nissan Magnite, on the other hand, comes with a 7-inch fully digital driver display with the mid-spec N-Connecta variant.

Turbo engine option

The Magnite can choose between a naturally aspirated petrol engine and a turbo-petrol engine. The Exter, however, only has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine but also has a CNG option.

4-color ambient lighting

One of the additions to the Magnite 2024 is 4-color ambient lighting, but it is only offered with the fully loaded Tekna Plus variant. The Hyundai Exter does not offer this ambient lighting.

IRVM with automatic dimming

The pre-facelift Magnite had a day/night IRVM (internal rearview mirror) similar to the Exter. The facelifted Nissan sub-4m SUV, however, comes with an auto-dimming IRVM from the mid-spec N-Connecta variant.

Synthetic leather seat upholstery

Not just a faux leather seat upholstery, but the 2024 Nissan Magnite comes with soft-touch faux leather material on the dashboard and door pads in the top-of-the-line Tekna Plus variant. In the Exter, synthetic leather material is used only on the steering wheel and gear lever, while the seats have semi-leather upholstery.

Price and rivals

Nissan Magnite price ranges from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.50 lakh. It rivals other sub-4m SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

The Hyundai Exter costs between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.43 lakh. It directly rivals the Tata Punch, being an alternative to the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3 cross-hatch. It also rivals sub-4m crossovers like the Toyota Taisor and Maruti Fronx.
