Mom brings ‘screaming’ baby on plane – shocked by what woman next to her does

A woman traveling in the US was surprised by a kind gesture offered to her by another passenger on a flight.

Ashleigh Rodriquez’s son was just 8 months old when they flew from Florida to Tennessee to visit family. Rodriguez was experiencing many parents’ worst nightmare during the flight when her baby wouldn’t stop crying.

Instead of being judged and rejected, she received a nice gesture from a passenger who knew the difficulties of traveling with children, she said. News week.

As Lyla was crying and “wouldn’t settle”, Ashleigh received an offer from the lady sitting next to her who said she would be happy to take the baby and help calm her during the trip. “As a mom, you’re very focused on trying not to bother other people,” Rodriguez said.

“So when your child is screaming and nothing you’re doing is working, it’s very overwhelming and it’s just…it’s a lot.”

The mother of one took to Instagram to share the touching gesture she received on the Allegiant Airlines flight, posting a video that has racked up more than 3.1 million views since it was shared on September 23.

Rodriguez wrote in the video’s text overlay: “To the lady and her five-year-old daughter next to me on the plane who offered to hold my screaming baby instead of judging me…thank you.”

The video shows Rodriguez looking emotional as he pans the camera to the row to his right, showing the stranger holding his baby.

“She asked if she could try to hold her and counsel my daughter and I said, ‘Yes, absolutely!’” she said. News week. “I’m not afraid of letting strangers hold my baby; It’s okay with me.

“The lady next to me held Lyla for maybe a little over an hour and just gave me a break. It was really sweet. Honestly, I didn’t even know how to thank her.

“I think people can normally just judge a mother. Like, ‘Why can’t you calm your baby?’ or ‘Why do you fly them in?’. The answer is: we still want to travel. Children are unpredictable and sometimes won’t do what you want them to do.

“I was so grateful that this lady helped me in a situation where I’m a first-time mom and I didn’t really know what to do.”

Instagram users shared their thoughts about Rodriquez’s experience in the comments section of his video. “My son did this on a flight from Reno to Philadelphia. Since then, he has received a Christmas card from the ladies every Christmas,” @patusan83 shared.

“This is what we should do. Help each other where we can. If we’re not part of the solution, we’re part of the problem,” said @gfz75.
