For her second appearance at the Met Gala, Outer Banks Star Madelyn Cline dazzles in a perfectly tailored Tommy Hilfiger dress based on the brand’s staple: the button-down shirt.

Cline attended the gala alongside K-pop group Stray Kids, GQ’s global editorial director Will Welch, and, of course, Tommy and Dee Hilfiger.

Cline and Hilfiger opted for a simple approach to the “Le Jardin du Temps” dress code. With shades of white and cream, scattered rosettes and a full skirt, Cline’s look contrasts with the sleek black and silver Stella McCartney dress she wore last year during her 2023 Met Gala debut.

As for her voluminous blowout, hairstylist Marc Mena used the viral Wavytalk’s 5-in-1 curling wand set. He started with the thermal brush to achieve that effortless ’90s look, then added extra movement with different sized barrels throughout his long locks.

The Revlon Global Brand Ambassador kept it fresh and glowing with Illuminance Tinted Serum in Light Tan and Tan Sand, Skinlights Prismatic Highlighter in Twilight Gleam, and Super Lustrous Lipstick in Bare It All.

Cline accessorized with a Tommy Hilfiger mini clutch from eBay that the designer recycled with the fabric from her dress, and her two tennis necklaces and delicate drop earrings also came from eBay.

This year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” is inspired by JG Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name, which fits perfectly with the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s latest exhibition, The Sleeping Beauties: the awakening of fashion, which opens to the public on Friday, May 10. The exhibition curated by Andrew Bolton highlights fragile pieces from the institute’s archives, all seen through the prism of nature. The beautiful book of the exhibition will be released on June 18.
