About 1,000 fentanyl pills found in Bismarck hotel room

Bismarck ND (KXNET) — Approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills were found in a parolee’s hotel room on Friday, May 3.

The Metro Area Narcotics Task Force assisted North Dakota Parole, Probation and Pretrial Services agents with a search of a parolee’s Bismarck hotel room .


Inside the residence, officers found approximately 1,000 Fentanyl pills. The pills were recovered and safely secured, and the parolee was taken into custody; the investigation is ongoing.

Chief Parole and Probation Officer Tom Erhardt reflected on the search, stating, “(Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR)) Parole officers continue to work hard to eliminate these hazardous substances in our communities. We will always respond with prompt action when the behavior of a person under surveillance puts the community at risk.

In 2023, Parole, Probation and Pretrial Services agents conducted more than 400 law enforcement operations across the state, resulting in the confiscation of more than 16 pounds of narcotics illegal weapons and 37 illegally possessed firearms, as well as other prohibited items.
