Leverkusen gives fans free tattoos to mark historic season

Treble-chasing Bayer Leverkusen are offering their fans free tattoos to commemorate their victorious Bundesliga season and unbeaten record, the club announced on Friday.

Xabi Alonso’s side, unbeaten in all competitions this season, reached the Europa League final after drawing 2-2 against Roma on Thursday for a 4-2 aggregate victory.

In doing so, they extended their unbeaten run to 49 matches in all competitions, surpassing Benfica’s European record set from 1963 to 1965.

“A special action at the end of a special season. Bayer 04 offers fans… Until the end of the season the opportunity to choose one of the many Bayer 04 tattoos for free,” said the club in a press release.

“Make an appointment now to perpetuate this unique season on your skin.”

Just 42 minutes after announcing the initiative, Leverkusen said: tattoo appointments were fulladding that fans still had the chance to get tattoos during the home match against Augsburg on May 18 and during their fanfest in Berlin on May 25.

After winning their first Bundesliga title, Leverkusen are also through to the DFB-Pokal final where they will face second division side Kaiserslautern in what could be a treble-winning season for the club.
