Sources claim that King Charles offered to “house Harry” in a royal residence during his visit to the UK, but he “refused”.

Sources close to the royal revealed he offered Prince Harry accommodation during his visit to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, but the Duke of Sussex “refused”.

Prince Harry landed in the UK last Tuesday to attend the event at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday to celebrate the historic milestone and was offered a royal residence while he remained in his home country .

However, the Duke of Sussex reportedly “refused” and instead stayed in a hotel.

A source told the Sunday Times that the Duke of Sussex’s father, the King, agreed to “take Harry in” because he knew his son no longer had an official residence in the UK, having returned the keys to Frogmore Cottage last June.

Shortly after Prince Harry arrived in London last week, a spokesperson for the Duke said he had attempted to meet his father but was unable to do so due to the the king’s busy schedule.

“This will unfortunately not be possible due to Her Majesty’s full schedule,” Prince Harry’s spokesperson told Page Six on Tuesday.

“The Duke of course understands his father’s commitments diary and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Close friends of Prince Harry have confirmed it is true he tried to arrange a meeting with his father after the Sunday Times reported that insiders close to the king claimed it would have been more convenient for the Duke if he had only accepted his father’s offer to stay at the royal residence instead of a hotel.

Despite what Prince Harry’s friends claim, a friend of the king has confirmed that his youngest son had in fact never contacted his father and did not invite the monarch to the Invictus Games event.

“It’s all very sad,” the king’s friend told the Sunday Times.

“While it is true that the King is understandably wary of meeting Harry, given the publicity circus that seems to surround all these visits, he of course agreed to see his son at the most vulnerable time of his illness (in February), and within very short deadlines.

“While he was barely rolling out the red carpet when this Invictus trip was announced, with doctors advising him to focus on his treatment and recovery, the idea that he refused to find space in his diary… well, let’s just say that memories can vary once again.

In April, Prince Harry changed his primary residence to the United States, backdating his documents to June 29, when Buckingham Palace officially confirmed that the former royals had moved out of their Windsor property.

Royal biographer Tom Quinn told Britain’s Mirror that Harry was “in tears” and “furious” over the king’s decision to expel the Sussexes from their British base.
