HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville man is in custody after police say he was arrested with methamphetamine after crashing behind the wheel while picking up his child from daycare.

According to an affidavit, officers were called early Friday evening to someone slumped over the steering wheel. EPD says they were looking in the 300 block of Mary for a white Toyota Camry with a child in the back seat.

When officers found the car, EPD said a man was slumped over. He was identified as Timothy Stull II. Authorities say he was not alert, dizzy and confused when he woke up.

Stull was ordered out of the car and taken into custody. Officers reportedly saw a white rock substance in a clear bag he was holding in his hand, and the bag tested positive for methamphetamine. They also say Stull had two burn wounds on his lip. The sores were recognized by smoking a hot pipe.

Stull said the child and vehicle belonged to him and that he had just picked the child up from daycare.

Officers reportedly found a glass pipe in the center console, a paper containing a white rock-like substance next to the shifter and a clear bag containing a white rock-like substance inside a package of cigarettes in the cup holder.

The affidavit states all items were within reach of the child when Stull passed out.

EPD says the child’s mother was called to pick up the child while Stull was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. He claimed he had been sober for four years and had recently relapsed.
