It’s not uncommon in the sports world for dedicated fans to demand changes in management if their team is performing poorly.

From baseball to football to hockey to basketball, if the manager or head coach doesn’t meet the fans’ expectations or approval, they will want him removed and someone another takes over.

Right now, among the four major sports, the person fans want to see fired more than anyone else would be St. Louis Cardinals manager Oli Marmol. Fans have been clamoring for the leader of the 11-time World Series champions on talk shows and on social media, and now those voices are making their way into the team’s home ballpark, Busch Stadium.

The Cardinals hosted a weekend series against the Boston Red Sox from May 17-19 and on two occasions the posts went viral because of the way they were delivered.

In a May 17 post, user @VanHicklestein posted a photo of the forum at Busch Stadium (like many other stadiums) where fans can post messages to wish “Happy Birthday,” “Happy Birthday,” or even for poor guy Mark in Milwaukee who was stuck in the “friend zone”. But on the Busch Stadium forum this weekend, there were two messages.

The board read: “Happy 10th Day B Bethany. » With a line underneath that said: “Please, late Marmol. »

Well, Marmol wasn’t fired because as of this point, he’s still the manager of the Cardinals. But FanSided, which was the first to report the post, points out that someone could very likely face disciplinary action for not reviewing the post before it went live at all stages. And this isn’t the first time an unverified message has been broadcast at Busch Stadium.

“Whoever did this doesn’t even know a person named Bethany. Still, I applaud them,” Bennie (@DenverBennie) commented on the post.

“I love it! Is anyone having a birthday soon? Please resend Mozeliak’s message would be awesome,” added Craig Longo (@stlwxalert).

John Mozeliak, the Cardinals’ president of baseball operations, also responded to fans’ demands for his firing.

In 2007, a mother sued the Cardinals after she said her daughter was suspected of having an STD (sexually transmitted disease) during a visit to Busch Stadium for a game in 2006. The message allegedly read: ” (AB) has an STD! Eww! The lawsuit sought $25,000 from the Cardinals, citing negligence in disseminating the message before it was broadcast.

But St. Louis fans didn’t stop at an inside-the-park call on the forum. One fan got creative and made his way behind home plate with a sign reading: “Fire Oli, Hire Yadi.” ” A reference to many fans’ desire to bring back fan favorite and future Hall of Famer Yadier Molina to take over the team and get it back on the winning path.

“Shout out to the ‘Fire Oli Hire Yadi’ sign just behind home plate,” commented DW Davis (@dan_davis86).

“@Cardinals it’s time to admit you made a mistake, fire Oli and hire Yadi. He knows how to throw and catch, he could decide the game and he knows how to be a good hitter. He is a leader, a competitor and an inspiration to players and fans,” JackSquatSavant (@TheSimpleSavant)
