A vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah is currently hearing the original petition filed by Shivangi Mishra and nine others on June 1. The court’s attention is also drawn to three additional applications seeking similar actions, including a stay of the counseling process.

The Supreme Court had already issued notices to the central government and the NTA in response to these petitions. He expressed concerns over the integrity of the NEET-UG exam, especially in light of allegations regarding distribution of pardons and other irregularities. However, the court did not stop the ongoing counseling process for undergraduate medical admissions.

Further hearings are scheduled on July 8 to entertain petitions seeking cancellation and reconsideration of NEET-UG 2024. The petitioners contend that awarding grace marks to over 1,500 candidates has compromised the fairness of the exam, echoing widespread discontent among candidates. students and parents alike.

The NTA responded to various concerns raised during the proceedings, including issues highlighted in a viral video showing a candidate’s torn OMR sheet, which triggered further scrutiny of the examination process.
