Find, leave messages to family, friends

As people evacuate from the South Fork and Salt fires, KUNM is working with Source New Mexico and other media outlets to help people connect with loved ones and friends. Newsrooms have set up a Google Voice and Speak Pipe number so you can record messages for people you’re looking for or to let friends and family know you’re safe.

We will post transcripts of these messages here. We may also broadcast them on air and a reporter may call you to follow up and interview you.

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Leave your first and last name and spell them
  • Tell us where you’re from
  • Leave your message

The number to call is(505) 738-4020. You can also visit the KUNM website and leave a message there. There is also a community page on social media called Reunite Ruidoso, which was created to allow people to post messages for their loved ones. There is also an online form the group uses to find missing people.

The fund is also supported by the Shelter Fund, the New Mexico Wildfire Relief Fund and the Emergency Action Fund held within the Albuquerque Community Foundation. Those who wish to contribute can do so here.
