Cooking for Diabetes’ offered by Memorial Hospital on July 10 – Muddy River News

CARTHAGE, Ill. — Memorial Hospital will host an educational culinary experience focused on wellness and diabetes education at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10 at the Health and Wellness Teaching Kitchen. This event is open to people aged 18 and over.

Attendees will have the opportunity to cook a healthy meal together, walk away with new recipes, meal prep tools, and receive other exciting giveaways. This event is an opportunity to engage in meaningful learning and discussion about the benefits of eating together and improving overall well-being.

The course will include a delicious meal, as well as real-world applications to help participants make healthier choices for themselves and their families.

Two healthcare professionals will lead the course.

Ashlyn Housewright is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist. As the executive director of community health and wellness at Memorial Hospital, Housewright promotes healthy eating habits and empowers people to take control of their health through proper nutrition.

Kayce Fuhrman is a registered nurse who helps people improve their health and believes in meeting people where they are and collaborating to improve their well-being. In a press release, Fuhrman said, “I love helping others improve their health so they can feel better and engage in activities that bring them joy and fulfillment. »
