Leesburg, Virginia man arrested after being caught driving over 117 mph on Dulles Toll Road

The driver of what appeared to be a luxury sports car was arrested in Fairfax County after he was caught going at least 60 miles per hour over the speed limit and using a fake plate registration, police said Thursday.

Fairfax County police dashcam video showed a driver caught speeding more than 117 mph on the Dulles Toll Road near the Herndon Metro station around 3 p.m. on June 22. The vehicle appeared to be a white Ferrari.

After being stopped, authorities said the vehicle had a “fictitious license plate” and arrested its driver, Sagar Govani, 27, of Leesburg, for reckless driving and displaying altered or fictitious plates.

He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on unsecured bond. Fairfax County police said the vehicle was not stolen.
