She is weird

Chevremont is a proud black queer woman.

“I’m what you call an older lesbian, and when I came out, I lost a lot of people,” she told GLAAD in an interview published Thursday.

“I think because of my age and accomplishments, I didn’t care what anyone else had to say. I didn’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone. I’ve spent my entire adult life in the fashion and art world, so while my personal life may have suffered, my professional life hasn’t really been affected by my homosexuality. I’ve been fortunate to be part of two industries where homosexuality is accepted.”

She is excited to join “RHONY”

“It’s exciting,” Chevremont told GLAAD.

“I honestly didn’t think they would be interested in me in the end because they already had a queer woman,” she added, referring to Lyons.

“I didn’t know if they were going to want two gay women in a franchise that historically was about married heterosexual women. I think it was a bold move and honestly, a more authentic representation of New York.

She thought a lot about joining the series

“My family and I really had to think about it; ultimately, it made sense,” Chevremont told the outlet.

“My entire adult life has been dedicated to representation and using every platform possible to elevate the voices of queer people in the diaspora. What better way to do that than to become a part of this iconic franchise? »
