Newcastle offered to ‘change the game’ to one club but they don’t really want him

A number of players could leave Newcastle United in the coming weeks.

Newcastle may have to sell before they buy this summer as they seek to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, which do not allow clubs to lose more than £105m over a three-year accounting period.

With that in mind, the future of much of Eddie Howe’s team is up in the air.

Yankuba Minteh could leave St James’ Park imminently, while Callum Wilson is reportedly attracting interest from West Ham.

Miguel Almiron is another player likely to have admirers and Martin Dubravka could also leave.

Then there’s Kieran Trippier.

Labeled a “game-changing player” by Alan Shearer for his impact since joining Newcastle, last season proved much more difficult for the England international.

Although he is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2024, there has been a development regarding his situation.

Newcastle have offered Kieran Trippier to AC Milan, but they don’t want to sign him

Indeed, according to AS Roma Live, the club would have offered Trippier to AC Milan while it was looking to raise funds.

However, the Italian giants are reportedly more interested in a move for Tottenham’s Emerson Royal.

They also add that Trippier would also have been offered to Roma.

Kieran Trippier really wants to stay at Newcastle

Although he has reportedly agreed to join Bayern Munich in January, it appears that Trippier would actually like to stay at Newcastle.

It’s a sentiment shared by Howe too, although it would be wise to move an out-of-form player at his age given Newcastle’s balance in complying with FFP regulations.

Few would doubt that Trippier was a superb signing for Newcastle, but the time now seems right to leave, particularly given Tino Livramento’s form last season.
