Plans for 107-room hotel and gas station in Somers move forward

Plans for a gas station with a convenience store and restaurants, as well as a 107-room hotel in the village of Somers advanced at Tuesday’s board meeting.

The village council approved the subdivision of the northeast corner of the intersection of East Frontage Road and 12th Street into four lots.

Village documents indicate that Lot 1 will be about eight acres and will include a gas station with a convenience store and two restaurants with outdoor dining. Lots 2 and 3, about nine and three acres respectively, will be designated for future development. Lot 4, about four acres, will be designated for the hotel.

Somers staff has been working with Golden Oil since late 2022 on the potential project, documents show. Village President George Stoner said other related items will come before the board in the future.

Although there have been some minor discussions to “make sure everyone is on the same page,” Stoner was optimistic about the development, which he said took several years to come to fruition. shape.
