Liverpool should consider signing three Euro 2024 stars who can light up the last 16

The Euro 2024 round of 16 is upon us after a fantastic group stage in Germany. Most of the big names are through to the knockout stages, but apart from hosts Spain and Germany, none look very convincing.

England are among the teams yet to step up a gear but could well have a favourable run into the latter stages, provided they can overcome Slovakia on Sunday night. With the transfer window now open, Liverpool boss Arne Slot will be among the managers keeping an eye on the players in action this summer.

The Reds are yet to make any additions, as expected, but there appear to be areas of the Liverpool squad that could be strengthened in the coming months.

Liverpool will begin pre-season in early July and that’s when we can probably expect business to start happening, with incomings and outgoings likely ahead of Slot’s first Premier League campaign.

With that in mind, here are three players who have caught the attention of columnist Jonathan Morley this summer in Germany, with the trio hoping to make even more of an impact as the competition reaches the knockout stages.

Riccardo Calafiori

Italy did not have a very successful group stage, as they qualified in second place after a draw against Croatia. And even if he did not score the equalizing goal in the last minute, Riccardo Calafiori was very involved in the match by delivering a fantastic assist.
