Chennai DRM announces July cancellations for MEMU Express trains

In line with priority given to passenger safety and security of railway operations, as part of ongoing engineering works, line blockage/feeder blockage is permitted in Guntakal Division of Central Railway -south from July 1 to 31, 2024. Therefore, the following are the changes in the model of MEMU Express train services.

Chennai: The Chennai DRM on Saturday announced total and partial cancellation of MEMU Express train services for the entire month of July. In an official statement, the authority said that as part of ongoing engineering works, line blockage/feeder blockage is permitted in Guntakal division of South Central Railway from July 1 to July 31 . She also mentioned that the decision was taken with the safety of passengers and train operations in mind.

“In keeping with the priority given to passenger safety and safe train operations, as part of ongoing engineering work, line blocking/feeder blocking is permitted in Guntakal Division of South Central Railway from 1st July to 31st July, 2024. Accordingly, the following changes are being made in the pattern of MEMU Express train services,” the official note read.

Complete cancellation of MEMU Express special train services

1. Train No. 07659, Tirupati – Katpadi MEMU Express Special, leaving Tirupati at 06:50 Hrs is COMPLETELY CANCELLED from 1st July to 31st July, 2024.

2. Train No. 07582, Katpadi – Tirupati MEMU Express Special, leaving Katpadi at 9:15 p.m., is COMPLETELY CANCELED from July 1 to 31, 2024.

3. Train No. 06417, Katpadi – Jolarpettai MEMU Express Special, leaving Katpadi at 09:30 AM is COMPLETELY CANCELLED from 1st July to 31st July, 2024.

4. Train No. 06418, Jolarpettai – Katpadi MEMU Express Special, leaving Jolarpettai at 12:45 hrs is COMPLETELY CANCELLED from 1st July to 31st July, 2024.

Partial cancellation of express train services

1. Train No. 16853, Tirupati – Villupuram Express, leaving Tirupati at 1:40 p.m. is PARTIALLY CANCELED between Tirupati and Katpadi from July 1 to 31, 2024.

2. Train No. 16854, Villupuram – Tirupati Express, leaving Villupuram at 05:35 AM, is PARTIALLY CANCELED between Katpadi and Tirupati from July 1 to 31, 2024.
