Traffic Stop Turned Into Arrest In Hurst, IL – KBSI Fox 23 Cape Girardeau News

HURST, IL (KBSI) – Williamson County police officers noticed a vehicle had a traffic violation. They stopped the car in the parking lot of Casey’s gas station in Hurst, Illinois. Officers discovered that the man’s driver’s license had expired since 2005 and that they smelled a strong odor of cannabis. When questioned about the smell, the suspect gave officers a glass pipe used for smoking cannabis. The man also provided officers with a bag of marijuana. Police searched the car and found methamphetamine in a backpack.

Billy B. Diguid was cited for the following:

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle
  • No valid driver’s license
  • Failure to wear a seat belt
