Patchogue Food Pantry Adds Second Day to Meet Demand

The food pantry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Patchogue has been available to those in need every Thursday, but starting Monday, it will be open twice a week.

The pantry serves between 125 and 150 families a week, so volunteers and church leaders say the extra day was necessary to serve the community.

The pantry is set up like a grocery store, allowing people to choose items to take home. There is also a soup kitchen and thrift store on site to further help people.

RISE Life Services operates the pantry in partnership with the church, providing opportunities for individuals in their special needs program to work at the pantry, providing them with professional and social experience, as well as a sense of helping others.
