Aer Lingus confirms cancellation of 80 more flights due to pay dispute

Aer Lingus has cancelled a further 80 flights in the coming days, it has been confirmed, as a pay dispute with pilots continues to cause disruption during the peak holiday season.

The latest information reveals that flights were cancelled between Thursday 11 July and Sunday 14 July.

In a statement, Aer Lingus said: “In order to continue to protect as many services as possible from the ongoing and highly disruptive impact of IALPA’s ongoing industrial action, Aer Lingus has had to take the step of cancelling a further 80 flights during the period Thursday 11 July to Sunday 14 July (inclusive).

“The implementation of these cancellations is intended to enable us to protect as many services as possible for as many of our customers as possible. These cancellations will be implemented today and details will be communicated to affected customers. Details of the affected services are set out on the ‘Travel Advisory’ page on aerlingus.com,” the statement said.

Aer Lingus and pilots’ union IALPA are awaiting a recommendation from the employment tribunal, following a hearing earlier this week.

Aer Lingus pilots are demanding a 24% pay rise over three years, with IALPA saying the increase would help combat the impact of inflation since 2019.
