BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — The Indiana men’s basketball team announced its non-conference schedule Tuesday morning.

IU will play eight home games in its non-conference schedule. The only game against a powerful conference team is against South Carolina.

“My staff and I have developed a non-conference program that will lead to long-term success this season,” Indiana men’s basketball head coach Mike Woodson said in the press release. “We have a new team this year that we are excited to showcase in front of the sold-out crowd at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.”

“We will be challenged by veteran and well-coached teams early in the season, which will prepare us for a 20-game conference schedule. We look forward to competing in one of the best tournaments of the season in our sport, the Battle 4 Atlantis. The matchups, however they play out, will be a great test for our team.”

The Hoosiers will also travel to the Bahamas for Battle 4 Atlantis, where they will play three games from Nov. 27-29. IU’s possible opponents include Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Louisville, Oklahoma, Providence and West Virginia. Only two of those teams (Arizona and Gonzaga) made the NCAA Tournament last season.

The schedule also does not include a game in Indianapolis. Since the Crossroads Classic ended, Indiana has played one more non-conference game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (vs. Ball State in 2022 and Harvard in 2023). They will not do so this season.

The location of the 2024-25 Big Ten Tournament has not yet been announced. If it is not held in Indianapolis, it would end a 49-year streak of Indiana playing games in the state capital.

Indiana will not play any games outside of Assembly Hall in the United States as part of their non-conference schedule. All of their true away games will be conference games.

The Hoosiers Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date. Last year, it was announced on Sept. 19.
