Get ready to sweat and dodge showers and storms this weekend

CLEVELAND — Here comes the heat and humidity! Temperatures today will range from 83 to 90 degrees. It will be even warmer inland. If you are north along the lake, expect temperatures in the 80s to 85s; if you are south, temperatures in the 80s to 90s are more likely. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon, especially away from the lakeshore. Not everyone will see a thunderstorm, but if you do, expect gusty winds, small hail and lightning. The severe threat is low for today, but not zero, so make sure you have a plan for shelter if needed! The thunderstorms will fade by sunset.

We will see more rain through the end of the weekend. Expect a higher risk of thunderstorms on Sunday. The earliest arrival will be Sunday morning and the latest in the afternoon. Once again, some thunderstorms could become strong or severe, especially if they persist into the afternoon.

This next system + a cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms for several days Sunday through Wednesday. We will continue to monitor for strong or severe thunderstorms during this time. Once the cold front passes, temperatures will drop by mid to late next week into the 70s!

What to expect:
