He told his wife to stop spending $45 a week on hamburgers – Chip Chick

He told his wife to stop spending a week on hamburgers – Chip Chick

The 42-year-old has a 33-year-old sister-in-law who started selling burgers every Saturday to earn some extra money.

Even though she works full time in an office Monday through Friday and makes a decent salary, she’s pregnant with her ex’s baby, and he’s gone.

So this led her sister-in-law to come up with a plan to sell burgers on the side to prepare for life as a single mother.

Every Saturday, his 40-year-old wife buys hamburgers for them and their three children. The problem is, his sister-in-law sells each hamburger for $9, so his wife spends $45 on hamburgers over the weekend.

“The burgers are tasty, don’t get me wrong, but she uses my (mother-in-law’s) recipe, which my wife also knows, so I don’t see why we should spend $45 a week on burgers when my wife can make them at home, and we would spend less money on ingredients,” he explained.

“To be clear, technically we can afford SIL’s burger without a problem; I just don’t see why we should when there are cheaper options.”

“I tried to talk to my wife about it, and she told me she was buying mainly to support her sister. I told her it wasn’t our job to support her sister; like I said, the burgers are delicious and every weekend they sell out in a matter of hours, so I don’t think losing our 5 burgers would hurt her business.”

Last Saturday, he again insisted that his wife stop buying hamburgers, and his wife demanded to know why he cared so much since she was using her own personal money.

He and his wife have a joint account, as well as separate accounts for their own savings, so they can spend as they wish.
