Several dead in knife attack at German festival

BERLIN, Aug 23 (Reuters) – Several people were killed on Friday night when a man randomly stabbed passers-by with a knife at a festival in the western German city of Solingen, the Bild newspaper reported.

Bild reports that the incident occurred at around 9:45 p.m. local time.

Witnesses said the attacker was on the run, the newspaper added.

Local police said they were not yet able to comment.
