Springfield City Hall Evacuated Due to Bomb Threat as Small Ohio Town Hits National Radar

A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of Springfield City Hall as the city continued to make headlines.

In a post on the city’s official Facebook account, Springfield said it had received a threat and that authorities were investigating the matter. They urged residents to avoid the area of ​​City Hall and report any suspicious behavior.

“CITY HALL IS CLOSED TODAY. Due to a bomb threat that was issued at multiple Springfield facilities today, City Hall is closed today,” the message read. “The City of Springfield received a bomb threat that prompted an immediate response from local and state law enforcement. As a precaution, the building was evacuated and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our employees and residents. We are working to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.”

“City officials were alerted to this threat via an email sent this morning at 8:24 a.m.,” they said. “The email was sent to multiple agencies and media outlets. We ask that the community avoid the area surrounding City Hall while the investigation is ongoing and report any suspicious activity to the Springfield Police Department. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this matter.”
