'We are all liars': Karan Johar makes SHOCKING revelations that will cause repercussions in Bollywood

Film director and producer Karan Johar recently made headlines by openly addressing some provocative topics in the Bollywood industry. He investigated the reliability of box office figures, the criteria behind casting decisions, and the integrity of celebrity film reviews, sparking widespread debate.

Karan Johar said THIS about box office numbers

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Karan Johar reinforced a common suspicion: box office numbers are often exaggerated, casting choices are not always driven by talent alone, and countless celebrities may not be completely honest in their public approvals of films.

Karan Johar has spoken openly about the credibility of the box office numbers, stating, “Yes, the numbers are faked, it’s true.” His admission resonates with ongoing doubts surrounding the authenticity of reported profits in the industry. When asked if talent is the main factor in casting decisions, he simply replied, “No,” emphasizing that popularity and box office appeal often eclipse genuine skill. “Box office and popularity always equate to talent,” he noted, while expressing gratitude for his own film opportunities and acknowledging that many deserving talents go unnoticed.

The conversation took a bold turn when they discussed the honesty of celebrity criticism on social media. Karan Johar bluntly stated, “No, we are all liars. We’re all big, fat liars.”

Karan Johar’s production company sells 50% stake

Recently, Adar Poonawalla created a sensation by acquiring a 50% stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for a whopping Rs 1,000 crore. Meanwhile, Karan’s latest film Jigra with Alia Bhatt is facing controversy. Divya Khossla Kumar alleged that the film’s team manipulated box office numbers by purchasing tickets to give a misleading sense of success. Jigra faced challenges in meeting its box office projections.

In light of the situation, director Vasan Bala recently took responsibility for the film’s poor performance. In an interview with Fever FM, he emphasized that as a filmmaker it is your duty to be successful at the box office and consider why audiences chose not to attend.

He suggested that something in the film failed to connect with viewers. Bala also highlighted that when actors invest their time in a project, it is crucial to ensure that their efforts are rewarded.
