Historic Ozengell Barn in Ramsgate to be offered at auction – The Isle Of Thanet News

Ozengell Grange goes to auction

Ozengell Grange in Ramsgate, built around 1711, is to be offered at auction.

The Haine Road property, which also has a barn believed to date from the 15th century, sits on 3.5 acres of land. It includes other outbuildings and stables.

The Grade II property, listed in 1974, has been in the same family for many years and is offered at a freehold guide price of over £600,000.

The two-bedroom property is one of 175 lots being put up for sale by land and property auctioneers Clive Emson ahead of its next sale, which is its 250th.

Auction valuer Jon Rimmer said: “This is an extremely rare property to come to market. This is a large detached house with an associated barn set within 3.5 acres of overgrown gardens.

“Full of historic features, this property is likely to whet the appetite of builders who will see enormous potential.

“It requires renovation and thus offers any new owner the opportunity to create their own interior.”

There are period features throughout, including inglenook fireplaces and exposed beams, with the gardens having several period outbuildings and a walled garden.

The sale with Clive Emson Auctioneers will close on Wednesday June 12.
