Meet London’s hottest chefs

Diarmuid Goodwin

Fun, stylish, and a longtime advocate for the queer culinary community, this Sager and Wilde head honcho is living proof that not all successful male chefs have to be sullen stress heads like Carmy. See for yourself with tickets to its Bubabla Pride celebration on June 30. @diarmuidg94

Jeremy Chan

Speaking of ruminating… uh, just kidding. Chan is the mysterious man in charge of the 42nd best restaurant in the world, Ikoyi, whose brain is as fast as his whip. Don’t let his £350 tasting menu fool you, he loves a Shake Shack as much as the next civilian. @jeremychanikoyi

Rahel Stéphanie

Chef, DJ, zine founder, activist, model, TV sensation…if there’s anything the Spoons founder can’t do, we haven’t seen it yet. Grab tickets to her upcoming pop-up at Rambutan on July 28 to see how she continues to revolutionize the capital’s Indonesian food scene. @linda_from_accounting

Angus Kitchin

He’s funny, he’s fabulous and he criticizes supermarket sandwiches. Need I say more? Well, just a little: formerly in the kitchen at FKA BAM, Kitchin has just unveiled Chap Bistro, offering delicious, inventive plates of divine comfort food in The Haggerston pub. Come on, people, go! @angustaaa

Jenny Phung

Anyone who understands the importance of a roast dinner is a winner in our eyes, so we will soon ask for Phung’s hand in marriage. Run, don’t walk, to taste her Chinese and Vietnamese concept, Ling Lings, at Dina’s throughout the month of July or on Sundays at Bambi in the days to come. @ling_lings

Ayo Adeyemi

As head chef of Akoko and Akara, Adeyemi played a leading role in the long-overdue celebration of West African cuisine, particularly that of Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and The Gambia . Watch out for the cheeky merryman next to the hot grill and Team ES in his DMs. @ayoadeyemi_

Dara Klein

Did you think you had strong will? Klein’s Pugliese pasta will bring you to your knees. That and his brilliant flaming orange mane. You’ll probably have spotted Tiella’s chef-patron (at the Compton Arms) at Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, in an Aesop campaign or in your dreams. @dara.klein

Anna Sogaard

Women’s empowerment is a hot topic, which puts this co-founder of the women-centric supper club, SuppHer, at the top of our list. Currently head chef at Bistro Freddie, his pet peeve is the influencers who order his famous tart and don’t eat it. This is not a problem she will have with us, obviously. @annasogaard

Meedu Saad

Everyone knows that if you want to seduce a person, you take them to the fiery depths of The Kiln in Soho – so obviously the head chef and co-owner is fabulous. Need more proof? He’s friends with rapper and F***, That’s Delicious founder Action Bronson, so you know he’s lol. @meedu_saad

Abby Lee

How Lee manages to have such beautiful blue hair and run one of the most exciting restaurants in the capital, we’ll never know. She’s a master of modern, effervescent, fiery Malaysian cuisine, so get on the waiting list for a table at her lo-fi Clapton restaurant, Mambow, to turn up the heat, pronto. @mambow_ldn

Naz Hassan

Ingenuity is hot. And Hassan? He has it. The former Pidgin and Crispin character serves deliciously offbeat modern European cuisine, often inspired by his Milanese and Bangladeshi heritage. In a word? We are obsessed. Keep an eye on her Instagram for her next pop-up. @the.shaman

Elliot Hashtroudi

Devastated that you can’t complete a task? Look away now. Currently head chef at the Borough Market restaurant with French accents, Camille, this former maestro of St John and 107 has the ability to make even veal brains appetizing. Yes really. @elliothashtroudi

Safiya Robinson

Weren’t sure plant-based foods could be sexy? Think again. Introducing the wonder behind Sister Woman Vegan. Currently in residence at Moko in Tottenham, his specialty is winning hearts with soul food influenced by the many people and cultures that have touched his life. Swoon. @sisterwomanvegan
