Coach Crawley Adds Alex Ready to Men’s Lacrosse Team

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – High Point University Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach John Crawley announced the hiring of Alex ready as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the men’s lacrosse program in late June.

Ready joins the Panthers after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Duke men’s lacrosse team. The Blue Devils appeared in the NCAA Tournament in both seasons, appearing in the championship game against Notre Dame in 2023 and the quarterfinals against Maryland in 2024. Duke finished the 2024 season with the 18th ranked defense in the country, holding teams to 10.42. goals per match. As a team, the Blue Devils averaged 11.63 saves per game.

A former University of Denver standout goalie from Lancaster, Pa., Ready was a four-year starter in net for the Pioneers.

As a rookie in 2016, Ready started all 16 games for the Pioneers, posting a 13-3 overall record and 9.00 goals-against average to lead the BIG EAST and rank 16th nationally. He racked up a career-high 142 saves as a rookie to earn BIG EAST Goaltender of the Year honors.

Ready also started all 17 games in 2017, earning second-team BIG EAST recognition after posting an 8.50 goals-against average and a 13-4 record. In his four seasons in Denver, Ready played in 58 games with 52 starting assignments. He posted a .497 save percentage and an 8.77 goals-against average, while amassing a 37-14 overall record as a backstop.

After graduating from Denver in 2019, Ready was picked up by Chrome of the PLL and played in two games in the league’s inaugural season.
