K-pop group Itzy and G-Shock collaborate on pop-themed series

They are dynamic, cool and stand out.

This is Itzy, the South Korean girl group that debuted in 2019 and has several hits on the Billboard charts.

And their G-Shock watches, in collaboration with Casio, are the perfect reflection of this.

The quintet – Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna and Lia (whose real name is Choi Jisu and is currently on hiatus) – have been G-Shock brand ambassadors since February 2023.

The G-Shock x Itzy watches feature the South Korean girl group’s name on the case back.

Casio appointed them to this role because of the powerful, expressive songs and cool performances that gave the group its charm.

Their first collaboration series – G-Shock x Itzy – features more fun versions of G-Shock watches, infused with the group members’ personalities as well as elements associated with them.

The GMA-P2100SG-1A and GMA-P2100SG-4A worn by Ryujin and Chaeryeong are based on the GMAP2100, which is a smaller version of the GMA-S2100 analog-digital combination watch.

As for the GMA-S120VA-7A and GMA-S140VA-7A worn by Yuna and Yeji, they are based on the GMA-S120 and GMA-S140 respectively, which are more compact versions of the very popular analog-digital combination watches.

The different collections in the series feature pop colours and a subtle shine, for example dials with metallic reflections or brilliant colour gradients.

G-Shock x Itzy watches have their own lighting.

These are perfect accessories to complete a breezy summer or resort look.

There is even an environmental aspect in the design of the watch.

The main resin components used in the GMA-P2100 series bezel and watch strap are made from bio-based resin.

The resin material is produced from renewable organic resources aiming to help reduce environmental impact.

The GMA-P2100IT as well as GMA-P2100ZY watches, launched in April and marking the first design collaboration between G-Shock and Itzy, are also based on the GMA-P2100.

It incorporates the octagonal bezel design of the 2100 line into an even more compact form and expresses Itzy’s cool image with a subtle monochrome palette.

Meanwhile, multi-colored accents reminiscent of Itzy’s official ring lights—a popular fan product associated with the group—adorn the hour markers on the dial.

There is also a brightly colored “Ton sur Ton” collection in monochromatic turquoise, volt yellow and hot pink, in addition to white.

The length of the watch strap has also been adjusted to comfortably fit slim wrists.

The bracelet buckle and side button are made of stainless steel.

Itzy logos appear on the dial and case back.

Offered in beige, pink, white and translucent black options, the range makes fashion coordination easy.

A bonus for Itzy fans are the signatures printed on the special packaging.

Undoubtedly, the group’s global fan base, comprised primarily of young Asian women, will want to join in the fun, which in Korean means “have it.”
