Roy Keane has revealed his “shock” at Gareth Southgate’s decision to make no changes at half-time for England.

The Irishman said the move could cost the Three Lions coach his job after a dreary first half in which Slovakia took the lead through Ivan Schranz on 25 minutes.

Speaking from the ITV studio as the players returned to the pitch for the second half, Keane said: “I’d be shocked (if Southgate hadn’t made any changes at the break). He could be out of his mind post in 45 minutes if he doesn’t do something about it.

“At least you have to make your decisions,” added Ian Wright, who agreed: “He can’t do that (not make changes), not the way we played this first half, he Something has to change.”

Southgate has made just one change to his England starting XI since the goalless draw with Slovenia in the Three Lions’ last Group C clash, with Kobbie Mainoo replacing Conor Gallagher in midfield.
