Garcetti, who was speaking at the Defence News Conclave organised by CUTS International, said: “I respect that India likes its strategic autonomy, but in times of conflict, strategic autonomy does not exist. In times of crisis, we will have to know each other. No matter what title we give it, but we will have to know that we are trusted friends… that in times of trouble, the next day, we will act together, that we will know each other’s equipment, that we will know each other’s training, that we will know each other’s systems and that we will also know each other as human beings.”
