The nationally recognized Penn State White Out is scheduled for Nov. 9 against Washington, while the Penn State Stripe Out will take place Oct. 5 against UCLA and the Helmet Stripe on Nov. 2 against Ohio State.

2024 Penn State Football Game Themes:

Sept. 7 – Bowling Green (Noon – BTN): THON Game; Youth Sports and Spirit Day; 107K Family Reunion; Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day

  • The home opener against Bowling Green will welcome THON families and volunteers, while football players will wear THON stickers on their helmets.
  • Spirit Day includes a pre-game cheer and dance session, as well as an opportunity for cheer and dance participants to perform during halftime, while Youth Sports Day invites youth sports teams to attend the game.
  • Penn State faculty and staff will be recognized as part of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.
  • Penn State’s 2023-24 Big Ten/EIVA/CHA conference champion teams will also be recognized.

September 21 – Kent State (time and network TBD): Military Appreciation Day

  • Penn State will honor the men and women who have served our country with a game dedicated to them when the Nittany Lions take on Kent State. This year’s military appreciation theme is POW/MIA and honors those who were prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action. ROTC elite, active duty military, veterans and military families will be honored during the game. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets to donate to service members and their families through the “Seats for Servicemembers” program. Support the “Seats for Servicemembers” program online or by calling 1-800-NITTANY.
  • At halftime, student-athletes who earned a grade of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2024 semester will be recognized for their academic achievements.

September 28 – Illinois (3:30 p.m., 4 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.; network TBD): Homecoming

  • In honor of Penn State’s homecoming, the 2024-25 State Forward Guide Award recipients will be celebrated during the game. The football team will once again go back in time for a special “Generations of Greatness” game, donning uniforms with design elements from past uniforms. The annual homecoming parade will return to campus and downtown State College on Sept. 27.
  • The 1994 Rose Bowl team will be honored on the 30th anniversary of its Rose Bowl victory over Oregon.

October 5 – UCLA (time and network TBD): Penn State Stripe Out; All-U Day

  • The Penn State Stripe Out returns. Each section will coordinate with blue or white apparel to create a striped look at Beaver Stadium. Fans can find out what stripe color their section will wear at PennStateStripeOut.com.
  • The annual University Day will feature student representatives from all Penn State campuses during halftime. The University Day celebration includes recognition of all national champions and campuses across the Commonwealth.

November 2 – Ohio State (time and network TBD): Helmet Stripe

  • For the third time, Beaver Stadium will be designed with a “helmet stripe” design. The majority of players at Beaver Stadium will wear white, while some sections on the east and west sides of the stadium will wear blue, to resemble Penn State’s classic helmets.

November 9 – Washington (time and network TBD): Penn State White Out

  • All fans are encouraged to wear white to ensure a Penn State White Out for the clash with the Huskies.

November 30 – Maryland (time and network TBD): Seniors Day; Boy Scouts Day; Educator Appreciation Day; Medical Services Appreciation Day; Parents Weekend
